December – Lauren McElroy aka Mother of Purl: Sustainable Crafting

Lauren, also known as Mother of Purl on social media, is a multidisciplinary fiber artist, designing knitwear, fiber processing and spinning yarn in rural Wisconsin. 

At our meeting, Lauren will lead a guided discussion on integrating sustainability into our fiber arts practices.  We’ll discuss the existing textile industry and find practical ways we can bring sustainable ways into our personal craft.   Lauren encourages engagement during her presentation, so think about what sustainability in your practice means to you and come ready to take part in the discussion.
