Skills Exchange Mini Workshops
A great opportunity to learn a number of useful new techniques in short 15-minute sessions. It will be a fun and social evening, with many valuable skills being shared by our volunteer teachers.
If you have a technique or skill you would like to share, please email Debra — programme@torontoknittersguild.ca.
Sadly, Lyn Gemmel of Shelridge Farm is unable to join us as planned.
The TKG annual fashion show features items hand-crafted by our members, with commentators to speak about the features of each modeled item. We encourage every member to participate and show off your handiwork, whether you are celebrating your first knit or your first 1000th knit!
How to Participate
If you are interested in participating, please email Debra, our Programme Coordinator: programme@downtownknitcollective.ca. Please complete and send this brief questionnaire and a photograph or two of your garment/item to Debra.
Submission due date is February 13
Please email your information to Debra by February 13 as time is needed to prepare the accompanying presentation.
Bring a Friend
Admission to the February Fashion Show is free for non-members. This is a great opportunity to bring a knitting friend. They may wish to join too!
Japanese Knitting
Alison Rose is a guild member and enthusiastic fan of exquisite knitting patterns available from Japan. Alison will speak on Japanese knitting techniques and designs. So that members will be aware of Japanese knitting books available from Needle Arts bookshop, Marsha White has prepared a handout with hyperlinks: Japanese Knitting Books.
BeadFX
On September 17th we will hear from Marg Yamanaka of BeadFx. Marg is very experienced in all aspects of beading including knitted jewelry and many other types of jewelry. She will describe her business and show us how to use beads to make wonderful handmade creations.
