September Meeting Recap
The September meeting kicked off what is sure to be another fantastic year with TKG. The virtual meeting enabled many to join from around the GTA. Maria Curtosi of The Knitting Loft gave a warm and uplifting talk about the journey of opening the shop with her family and the vibrant community that has been built along the way. Maria's joy beamed through the computer screen and spirited messages from attendees flew around in the chat messaging throughout the meeting.

Maria was very generous with her speaker's honorarium and offered it back to the Guild for four members to win one of 4 $50 gift certificates in a raffle. The lucky winners were Amanda Mustard, Ruby Nishoka, Erin Decker, and Joanna Nakan.
Memberships Are Available!

2020/21 Memberships are now available online! The Board has decided to employ a Pay What You Wish / Pay It Forward model for membership for the 2020/21 Guild year. If you're struggling but still want to take part, use the Pay What You Wish option and apply discount codes to reduce the cost of membership. You can also chose to Pay It Forward and support the membership of a member in need.

Note that no matter which membership payment option you choose, there is only one class of membership – a Member – which gives you full access to the website portal, full voting privileges, a monthly Newsletter and other communications by email, and discounts at most local yarn stores

Update from the LYS Program - Know before you Go
The LYS owners in the TKG discount program, like almost everyone else, are having a tough time these days. Please support them if you can, but please first check the TKG website to see if any of their information (e.g., opening status, address, discount policy) has changed.

They know about the new membership "cards" (i.e., email confirmations) that TKG members are receiving this year in lieu of physical cards; if you wish to use the member's discount when shopping, especially online, you may find that there are some extra steps involved. Again, please do your homework and be patient, and if you have any difficulty please let us know at partnerships@torontoknittersguild.ca.
Virtual Knit Nights
A number of people have told us they are really missing the social aspect of the guild meetings and have  expressed a desire to connect with fellow knitters and crocheters on a regular basis.

If you are part of a group who regularly meets online and would welcome other knitters, would you please contact editors@torontoknittersguild.ca with your group's timing and contact details? We would like to post available groups within the Members Only Portal.
Stay connected with TKG!
If you're missing the in-person chatter of monthly meetings there are a few ways to keep connected with the Guild and other members! Join the TKG Ravelry Group (Link leads to Ravelry.com) and show off your latest FOs in the TKG Spotlight Thread (link leads to Ravelry.com).

There is also a Facebook page where updates from the guild and LYSs are shared. The Instagram page (@torontoknittersguild) also has frequent updates and content from the guild, local events and more!
