Knit Nights

TKG hosts virtual Knit Nights once a month from October through May. Meetings are free for members and do not require pre-registration. Knit Nights are moderated by members. TKG Knit Nights are scheduled for 7pm to 8:30pm EST on the following dates for 2024-2025. Members should log in to the Membership Hub to access the Knit Night Zoom meeting link.

Monthly Meetings

Monthly meetings are held on the third Wednesday of the month from September to June. All meetings will be available as virtual meetings via Zoom, and some will be offered as a hybrid meeting with in-person attendance available as well. Each meeting listing specifies whether the meeting will be a Zoom Webinar or Hybrid. In-person attendance for hybrid meetings will be at Innis College, 2 Sussex Ave, Toronto.  This is an accessible venue – for more details,  refer  to our FAQ page under About TKG at  https://torontoknittersguild.ca/faq/. September – Marg Yamanaka

BeadFX On September 17th we will hear from Marg Yamanaka of BeadFx. Marg is very experienced in all aspects of beading including knitted jewelry and many other types of jewelry. She will describe her business and show us how to use beads to make wonderful handmade creations.

October – Alison Rose

Japanese Knitting Alison Rose is a guild member and enthusiastic fan of exquisite knitting patterns available from Japan. Alison will speak on Japanese knitting techniques and designs. So that members will be aware of Japanese knitting books available from Needle Arts bookshop, Marsha White has prepared a handout with hyperlinks: Japanese Knitting Books.

November – Donna Hancock

Wellington Fibres Donna Hancock the founder of Wellington Fibres, will be our guest speaker. Donna is on the faculty of the University of Guelph and is the founder and owner of a working farm raising mohair goats. Wellington Fibres also operates a spinning mill which produces exquisite mohair yarns from the farm’s goats.

December – Holiday Social

A fun, informative, and social night. The executive presented answers to questions received regarding the guild, introduced the executive, newsletter committee members and webmaster. Opportunity to meet and mingle with other members at a social in the café.

January – Robin Hunter

Innis Town Hall 2 Sussex Avenue, Toronto, ON, Canada

Robin Hunter will be speaking about knitting with Hand-Dyed Yarns.

February – Work of our Hands Fashion Show 2015

The TKG annual fashion show features items hand-crafted by our members, with commentators to speak about the features of each modeled item.
