SUMMARY:October - Erlbacher Knitting Machines: Shop Tour and Demos
DESCRIPTION:Erlbacher Knitting Machines – Cape Girardeau\, Missouri                                       \nA Shop Tour and Demos        \nhttps://erlbacherknitting.com/           \n  David “PeeWee” Erlbacher was a fourth generation machinist. He started his own machine shop in 1960 making race car parts. As the machining business changed over the years\, the parts got larger and larger. Erlbacher Gear and Machine Works is primarily a gear shop\, however\, with CNC mills and lathes\, it has become a full-service precision machine shop. Upon seeing a vintage CSM\, PeeWee’s interest was piqued. He knew he would be able to reverse engineer the Gearhart CSM. With the help of other Gearhart mechanics and enthusiasts (and with a lot of thought\, headaches\, and mistakes) he finally did it. A lifetime in a machine shop and he has said\, “The Gearhart CSM has been one of the most difficult things we have ever made in the shop.” This is quite a compliment to the machinists of the original product. \nClear here to join on Zoom

DESCRIPTION:February is the month of love & togetherness\, and in that spirit\, we’re opening up the meeting and running our first Virtual Show & Share.  Show us what you have finished over the last few months.  We have such a wealth of talent and creativity in our guild and we love to see each’s other’s projects.  This isn’t a fashion show or a photo contest\, just a fun way to share and connect with each other. \nHere are the details:  \nSend a jpeg of your project to cheryldeville6@gmail.com If possible\, taking the photo outdoors in natural light will ensure a good picture\, with details easily seen. A photo on your balcony or front step will work just fine\, no need to stress the location! \nAdd a couple of sentences describing your project.  Pattern name\, yarn used is always helpful.  What you love about it / why you made it / was it a good experience / techniques used\, etc. \nSubmission Deadline Feb. 8 or earlier.  We need the photos to create the presentation well ahead of the meeting. \nImportant to Note:  this meeting will be recorded\, so if you’d prefer not to have your name posted\, please let us know ahead of time.  We will happily accommodate you.  We can use your first name only\, or you may remain anonymous.

Lots of info will be provided so that you can start planning to take part in the fun. \n\nYarn dyers Elizabeth & Debbie Sullivan of Sweet Paprika Design in Montreal will join the call to talk about how they use CircleRLamb’s yarn in their business. Sweet Paprika Designs offer high quality materials for knitters and crocheters with a focus on locally sourced and sustainable products. They hand dye yarns in small batches in beautifully rich colours\, teach dyeing workshops\, host monthly knitting teas (now online) and design knitting and crochet patterns. \n\nMeetings are open to members.
