Announcing the TKG Knitty Make-Along

At our final meeting of 2020, we spent the evening with Amy Singer, Editor, Publisher and Founder of the Knitty.com magazine. Amy launched Knitty.com in 2002 “to feature the knitting talent she’d been seeing on blogs all over the world in one tidy, professional-looking website”. In the 18 years since its debut, the quarterly Knitty magazine has launched many designers and published hundreds of patterns.

After a Knitty FO Fashion Show, followed by Amy’s presentation, chatter about a Knitty make-along soon started, and, well… here we are. All TKG Members are invited to the Knitty Make-Along (MAL)! Find all the details about participating below, the party links will be shared closer to the event.

October 21 meeting, open to guests

Join Kate Atherley and Kim McBrien Evans for a deep dive tour of their new book, Custom Shawls for the Curious and Creative Knitter. Kim and Kate will give an overview of the elements of the book, how they used these elements in building the beautiful shawl patterns in the book, and what’s on their needles a year after writing it. Through learning about how both Kate and Kim approach shawl design, you’ll get tips for creating your own amazing shawls through this book. Full meeting details . . .

This will be a virtual meeting via ZOOM. Log in from 7:15 pm for a 7:30 pm start.

Frolic 2020 Cancelled

The Frolic Planning Committee is sorry to inform you that this year’s Knitters Frolic, scheduled for Saturday, April 25, has been cancelled due to concerns about the developing COVID-19 pandemic.

This decision was not taken lightly, and was made in response to the recommendation from Ontario’s Chief Medical Officer of Health, regarding the immediate suspension of all gatherings over 250 people. The health and safety of our vendors, volunteers, and attendees is our utmost priority.

Although we are temporarily unable to meet in person, we are keen to continue to support our knitting community and vendors “virtually” through the ongoing DEstash/REstash MAL. We hope you will join us on Ravelry.

In the meantime, please stay well!
