Frolic 2020 Cancelled

The Frolic Planning Committee is sorry to inform you that this year’s Knitters Frolic, scheduled for Saturday, April 25, has been cancelled due to concerns about the developing COVID-19 pandemic.

This decision was not taken lightly, and was made in response to the recommendation from Ontario’s Chief Medical Officer of Health, regarding the immediate suspension of all gatherings over 250 people. The health and safety of our vendors, volunteers, and attendees is our utmost priority.

Although we are temporarily unable to meet in person, we are keen to continue to support our knitting community and vendors “virtually” through the ongoing DEstash/REstash MAL. We hope you will join us on Ravelry.

In the meantime, please stay well!

March Guild Meeting Cancelled

We know that there is a lot of information currently being shared with respect to the COVID-19 virus. In particular, we have seen a number of steps being taken to minimize possible outbreaks and spreading.

We were notified today that Innis College, and all of U of T, will not be hosting any events as a way to mitigate the potential spread of the virus. On that basis, we have cancelled our Guild meeting scheduled on March 18, 2020.

At this time we are unsure of any impacts to the April meeting, but we will provide additional details as they become available.

Please be well and take appropriate precautions to protect yourself and others.

Thank you,
TKG Board

Call for Submissions: Knitty Fashion Show

Knitty Fashion Show – April 15, 2020

Amy Singer from Knitty.com will be at our April meeting presenting a fashion show using patterns from Knitty.   This meeting is all about member participation and FUN!   Amy will moderate and we will model our garments.   Prepare to be entertained with stories and anecdotes throughout the show.

We need your items for the show!  If you’d like to join in the fun, please fill out this fashion show submission form and send it back to Cheryl as soon as possible.  All the details you’ll need are on the submission form.

Because April is the pre-Frolic meeting, we’re going to run a Member De-stash event, instead of having a vendor.  Get ready to clear out your stash and make room for some new goodies from the Frolic.  Start thinking about what you’d like to sell, and we’ll provide details on that in the New Year.  We’ll also have a Used Book & Pattern sale with proceeds benefitting our charities.
