Another theme in my work is the exploration of these elemental shapes that work with a very specific way that we dye @indigodragonflystudio. By taking yarns that would normally pool in unattractive ways. It’s a mindless form of #assigned pooling that I’ve been developing since 2006. I call the technique Optical Delusion and love that different people see what they wish to in it. I see water and fire while others see leaves and feathers. It’s elemental and intuitive at its very core.

Stripes are an ongoing theme in my designs as I look for ways to subvert expectations about how stripes affect the body shape underneath. I live for that subversion!

By adding thinner stripes that line up with narrower parts of bodies or by changing stripe size and shape, I’m changing the perspective of a viewer looking at someone wearing one of my designs. It’s the best evil magic.
